Twas a sun shiny day indeed when I got a message from my sister saying "water just broke heading to the hospital!". She was 6 weeks early so we were all surprised!!! Rushed at 6am and baby came into the world at 11:19am!!! Baby RAFA was in a hurry to see the world! haha I will share a photo of him with you guys when he is all settled and brought home! Everything I have is thru a glass in the nursery =)

For the leg love SHOW itself decide to bare my legs and add a layer of fancy. This white cape like cover up with it's slits was just perfect - got me wishin' for a pair of leg love myself!

I wasn't able to take any photos from the SHOW or from the backstage! boo! However lemme share with you my fave looks LUIS ESPIRITU and the Team cooked up! =)

The couture series of LEG LOVE by Pablo Cabahug was a show stopper! When I saw the designs I was just amazed by them and especially more so when paired with his sheer dresses!!!

Thanks also to DAS for their shoes!!!

It was such a great show!!! Was only able to watch the Dress/Tech Rehearsal and was blown away!

Props to JCA Productions too! The set was awesome!!!

Blue and Brown: A Guide to Hosting a Baby Shower

When my sister told me she's pregnant I was over the moon with excitement! I was of course extra happy for them and looking forward to a pamangkin and a playmate for Carlos! When we found out it was a boy we couldn't help but already plan for the baptism and future birthdays! We actually have a theme set already! And when I realized I was the one to throw my sis her baby shower I got busy!

The theme was simple (must reserve the others for more important occassion) I was just given a color palette actually. It was royal blue and chocolate brown. I added the blue green just to brighten it all up!

Special thanks to Rudolph who made the tarp design for me!!!

Whats the easiest way of setting up a jolly mood but with sweets?

So for the centerpieces I aimed to please with a bunch of munchies.

I have my cousin to thank for the french macarons (with diff fillings too)

Got the idea from my bridal shower! Poofies!!! Such an easy to do decor that makes a lot of impact too!

You can just search youtube for tutorials =)

Had this book passed around for guests to leave their message for the future parents and the baby boy!

Again desserts were made by my cousin Ate Jonnah!

Chocolate Ganache and Wild Strawberry and vanilla treasure!

I was actually excited about the decorating and the hosting but what worred me were the games! This would be my first ever Baby Shower (Mine had games for a BRIDAL Shower). So research research I did and asked friends for ideas! So I came up with 4 that I think would suit the audience (they were much older than me) and wouldn't be too much for them (these are not baby shower rookies anymore) I was so pressured to keep things interesting I swear!

So as an ice breaker game 1 was easy! Just had to match different pairs of socks , the one with the fastest time wins! Just to keep it tricky buy ones that have similar designs and color =)

As we were preparing for game 3, 2nd game was just a Q&A I showed photos of cartoons nowadays whoever gets it right gets a price! The goal was to help mom and dad - to - be to be more familiar with what the baby will be watching in the future! This will work if your guests have kids already =)

Game 3 were for daddies (since the shower was open to them to)! Basically it was a race to put on a diaper on a peeing baby! Since they were expecting a boy, the game was designed for one. All you would need are water balloons filled, gauze cloths (lampin) and pins or clasps to secure them. Poke a small hole in the balloon to mimic a peeing baby and your all set! I asked dads for this as a reminder that they have to do the dirty job too!!!

Game 4 was good ole Pinoy Henyo! Of course theme was everything related to baby and pregnancy! Holding up epidural and breastfeeding! haha

BUT OF COURSE

It wouldn't have been successful if it weren't for those who attended!

This floral blazer is my favorite ukay (thrifted) piece so far..

However going to ukay ukay (vintage stores) can often be a daunting task since locations are usually inconvenient and rarely a cure for the blues. No retail therapy there.

I turned 26 last 8th of September. So feeling all grown up and weary decided not to have a party anymore. However I am so grateful for everyone who made sure it was special nonetheless =)

I was surprised by my BELLAS at the stroke of midnight. I was totally clueless and in my worst PJs ever to be caught dead in! But I was sooo happy and close to tears and kept hiding under the covers!

Lunch and the rest of the afternoon was spent with my boys =)

Dinner was spent with the Fam at my sis's house since she's on bed rest

Shoot at the Ronac Gallery proved to be such an interesting experience. A great backdrop seriously sets the mood right. Something that brings you out of the usual white walls of the studio is always welcome don't you think? =) We did a few layouts in the gallery so we got to hang out for awhile around these interesting artworks. Although these aren't my usual style I do applaud the artist for them. Very visual.. got me thinking of puke the whole time (that is meant as a compliment). Meaning his images provoked something in me.

Paco Park

Early morning call time for a shoot at Paco Park, Manila. I was actually so excited since I haven't been there YET. I am such a sucker for these things it actually felt as if we were going on a field trip. The park did not disappoint. With an entrance of only Php 5.00 it sure was worth it. Got me dreaming of more of these in different areas of Manila. We actually saw a group of students there (I think they cut class tsk tsk) and a couple. Nice date/hangout/eyeball (excuse the term) area hehe and I know they do a lot of occasions there too and shoots of course.

The Chapel is currently being cleaned and restored! YAY to that effort =)

Penshoppe has done it again!!! They are giving us yet another something to look forward to and get all excited about!!! Penshoppe is tying up with New York based Filipino fashion designer Robin Tomas to launch a new line of TOPS both for men and women. It will feature casual wear with New York fashion edge. This line will come out next year!! (waaaah such a loooong wait but worth it)

But why are we getting all excited about this??

Robin Tomas studied in Parson's School of Design, interned under Anna Sui and Valentino AND WON the Supima Design Competition award for the best Reinvention of the T-Shirt". His winning t-shirt design was produced and launched in Bloomingdales’ 59th street store in March 2011.

But why Robert Tomas?

"Robin Tomas has a fresh, well-cultivated and very wearable aesthetic. It goes in sync with Penshoppe's sophisticated casual message," Alex Mendoza, Penshoppe Brand Director. And also the Supima T-shirt Design Contest, also known as the contest of emerging designers, brings Tomas one step closer to being a top-notch international designer that we can all be proud of.

This step puts Penshoppe closer to its goal of bringing the brand in the international market having established itself in the local scene for 25 years already. It continues the thread of being global. First they started out with a NYC actor, Ed Westwick as their endorser, now they are tying up with NYC based designer Robin Tomas, cannot wait for what is yet up there sleeves that would wow the Filipino market.

Funny how Mikka and I, both moms to lil boys believe that we will go broke when the day comes we have daughters! Especially now that so many choices are available out there! I remembered having such a hard time finding clothes when I was small. Now every kid can be as fashionable as her mommy!

So yes my last weekend was set with girl friends and nothing like a great Friday to start it out right.
For portfolio purposes my high-school friends Finella, Anina and I did a shoot together. So happy that we were able to get Dindi to model too!!!

(This is part 2 of 3 of my estrogen filled weekend)

The girlfriends of my hubby's barkada (group) just recently decided to have bonding sessions apart from our boys. I am so glad we did this since we became a support group for each one. Knowing that birds of the same feather flock together, our problems tend to be similar with each other HAHA. However we do not just whine we also DINE. So last Saturday we had our first ever cooking class.

Kim is visiting the boyfriend all the way from Thailand! She was our teacher chef for the day =)

The Styling Team namely: Reg, Me, Rudolph and Mikka were tasked to each have a shoot that we would handle on our own. A much needed challenge that was welcomed by all with both jitters and excitement.

Mine was to feature the clothes of Fashion Design Council of the Philippines's (FDCP) designers to promote their contest entitled, Weaving The Future: A Social Design Competition.

My greatest challenge for this project was the location and no one was allowed to use a studio. I am so grateful that my friend recommended ALPADI ESTATE in Antipolo. As it turned out my cousin is friends with the owner and so was our make-up artist! It was the perfect setting for the shoot as it provided the natural elements that I needed. With so many areas, we didn't have a hard time finding interesting spots to shoot. I felt so blessed too that the weather cooperated. It was raining right until we finished with make-up and rained again right after our last lay-out!!!

The accessories

I was so grateful that I was able to borrow these great pieces from Gerry Sunga who is also a member of FDCP! Each one is indeed a work of art. Their intricacy is beyond words!

I also pulled out from Aranaz their De Lujo Collection!

I am so amazed that something so simple can turn out so wonderful!

And the Joyce Makitalo pieces always inspire =)

The clothes are from: Randy Ortiz, Joel Escober, Jerome Salaya Ang, Avel Bacudio, Gerry katigbak, Ramon Esteban, Len Nepomuceno Guiao and JC Buendia

The look for this was very ethereal even for the hair. I am so glad that Ria did the make-up to the tee and more!!! We were having our doubts for the hair since I wanted it to be sooo big but Sony Mar delivered perfectly! And to Jackie our model who accepted this stint the night before (thanks also Mikka), I am so thankful! She is such a trooper!

and Ate Grace for keeping me sane and making me sit down when I kept pacing the room thank you!!!

GOOD THYMES!!

We were invited by my friend Mara for the the opening of their new restaurant Good Thymes in Marikina. Of course we all obliged as good friends will do. And so glad we did as it not only fulfilled my craving for that day but also proved that indeed its the place where Good times are made.

First off loved the homey, straight forward feel of the place that both caters to wholesome family diners and friends that are out for drinks.

Their menu is a fusion feel good food as I call it ranging from Pizzas to Pinoy faves such as sisig and caldereta!

Our orders: Pork Bagnet with kare kare sauce, roast beef with gravy, sisig and gising gising!

with some beer to wash it down hehe

As for the opening Mara's sister was there to serve drinks! Such a cutie! She was also one of my flower girls! =))

Congratulations are in order to the SOFA graduates for this term! Passed by the grad show with the styling fam but unfortunately I wasn't able to witness the genius works. I am slightly tiny and was stuck at the back hehe

Had the pleasure to be partnered with Reg for this project that brought us in one of Makati's skyscraper's helipad/roof deck. And as for the outfit comfort was key as we would be going up and down flights of stairs in between changes. Also much protection from the sun was needed besides sunblock, I wore this cutesy hat that I got with Reg when we pulled out for this shoot - so yes it was from SM Children's Accessories Department. (see here)

(I was suppose to post this for Nicole's Birthday but internet connection failed me )

So Nicole came back for a short while from Sing Sing land and we took the opportunity to celebrate her birthday at Bellini's, Cubao Expo.

It wasn't our usual since its so far but the ambiance and food made up for the travel! And we are such sappy ones really been wanting to try it out since One More Chance had Popoy and Basha dating there.

The murals held our interest for the whole duration of of our stay... Seriously trying to name each character shown haha

It seems it lingers and I cannot escape this feeling so this is yet another continuation of my previous post and outfit. I did tell you that I have always been fascinated by gypsies in stories (see my entry here) of their brews and spells and dangerous allure that entangles you. Their bellowing skirts and jewels from scrap made unique and their own. But more so of their spirit, always fleeting, fleeing, freeing. So with that I again leave you guys with a quote.

I was giddy with delight when I received this text from Reg inviting me to come with at Penshoppe's Store Opening at SM-North Edsa. Fashion Bloggers united to celebrate with them armed with a 3,000 worth gift card valid for the day. Who can resist? I have been in and out of Penshoppe during the summer months as we did the Ayala Mall Style Origins Fashion Show and loved their merchandise. I was super excited I actually drove myself all the way up North (which I never do given the distance).

Scouring the girls section, I was glad to see knits in creams, lilac and green, girly and flirty silhouette on their dresses, shirts with cute phrases, polos in plaids and floral prints and awesome pants! Loved their flats too which I scored and wore home! Super comfy!

Denims Galore surely bringing sexy baaaack

Loving the Menswear section of Penshoppe!!! Echoing their recent endorser Ed Westwick's fashion sense, they have sharp and cotton blazers, those sexy man shorts and the checkered slip ons!

And for those manly men and boys next door they offer a wide range of greys, khakis and denim pants, shirts with graphic prints and witty sayings and the basic sneakers and slip ons in blue, gray, black and brown.

And as if the shopping spree wasn't enough they even gave away GCs from Penshoppe, The Spa and a new digital camera!!!

Kelly has always had the penchant for things Asian, I think ever since Mike and all their travels.

It was just fitting for her to celebrate with us in Jang Gun a Korean Restaurant in Libis.

A tradition: we forgot to order cake. So Mara and I ran to the nearest possible place (TOSH was next door) and ordered. Unfortunately their cakes are pre-sliced already so we ended up buying 4 slices. They were so nice and helpful they arranged it and all and put a tea light candle in the middle! =))

An alkaline drink made from potato that will equalize acid... blah blah Kelly had a long a$s explanation about it to make us all take a shot.

What is it?

Escuela Taller is in Intramuros since 1985. It was set up with the help of Spain's Ministerio de Trabajo y Sociales in order to aid the Philippines with the rising rate of poverty and unemployment. Their aim is to train people in the art of restoration of our cultural heritage.
